It’s understood the woman from Brisbane was walking along a hiking track in Glass House Mountains with friends when she fell, resulting in head and limb injuries.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to assist at the scene of the accident at around 10.40am.
Due to the remote location, the rescue helicopter crew winched the on-board Critical Care Doctor and Flight Paramedic onto the side of the mountain.
The CareFlight clinical crew assisted emergency service officers to treat the woman at the scene.
She was then placed onto a stretcher and winched into the helicopter with the CareFlight Doctor at her side.
The patient was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
She travelled in a stable condition.
