A 42-year-old Melbourne man suffered chest injuries when he slipped on rocks whilst walking through the national park.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene of the accident at approximately 1.45pm.
Due to the remote location, the Critical Care Doctor and Flight Paramedic on board the helicopter were winched into the bushland to treat the patient on-site.
The CareFlight clinical crew stabilised the patient at the scene before a stretcher was winched down from the helicopter to secure the injured man.
The stretcher patient and the two CareFlight crew members were then winched up into the rescue helicopter.
The man was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
He travelled in a stable condition.
