From lavish can-can dancers to Parisian glamour, the world famous Moulin Rouge came to life on the Sunshine Coast on Friday night when RACQ CareFlight Rescue hosted its annual Gala Ball.
The elegant Moulin Rouge-themed Ball was the charitys largest endeavour yet with more than 580 guests attending the show-stopping Parisian party, helping to raise $200,000.
The Novotel Twin Waters Resort room decorated with the colour, sound and extravagance of an early 1900s Parisian nightspot was filled to capacity with revellers digging deep to raise the incredible figure.
CareFlight Deputy Chairman Don Moffatt said the Gala was one of CareFlights most successful events to date.
The evening was a great way to update guests on our lifesaving service and also acknowledge and thank our wonderful sponsors, supporters, volunteers, staff and our rescue crews on the frontline of critical care, he said.
Guests dined on a sumptuous three course feast while bidding on auction items such as a trip to Paris including a travel voucher for flights and a Tour de France lunch and experience package with three time Tour de France Green Jersey winner, Robbie McEwen.
Everything was exquisite, from the food to the glamorous entertainment to the guests themselves who were dressed to impress, all for a good cause, Mr Moffatt said.
Thanks must go to The Hervey Bay Boat Club as the events naming rights sponsor, Balgownie Estate Wines, Energex, Vantage Homes QLD, Think Money, Ken Mills Toyota, BOQ Maroochydore and Profile Magazine.
Plans are already underway for the 2016 event.
