CareFlight called to assist after Vanuatu bus crash

CareFlight is preparing to airlift two patients from Port Vila, Vanuatu today following a serious bus accident.  

CareFlight’s Air Ambulance departed Brisbane International Airport at 7.15am with a Critical Care Doctor and two Flight Nurses on board.  

It’s understood 12 people were injured as a result of the accident; CareFlight will work with local authorities to confirm which of the two patients will be transported via its Air Ambulance service today. The patient’s details have not yet been confirmed.

The Learjet 45 is scheduled to touch down in Vanuatu’s capital at 10.15am local time.

It’s expected two patients will be flown to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital today under the supervision of CareFlight’s clincial team.
