CareFlight called in for double airlift Saturday night

A 31-year-old woman was badly injured in a skydiving accident at Toogoolawah yesterday.

The second patient requiring an urgent airlift by RACQ CareFlight Rescue was a 23-year-old man with suspected injuries to his face and head.

The Sunshine Coast local was hurt after a car jack handle swung up and hit him in the face while he was jacking up a 2.5 tonne 4WD.

The Gold Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called in at 5.15pm for the double airlift.

The Queensland Ambulance Service transported both patients by road ambulance to the Kilcoy Sports Field, where CareFlight’s helicopter landed.

Both patients were flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
