CareFlight airlifts two injured women

The first patient suffered a suspected head injury and fractured collarbone after a fall.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast helicopter was dispatched from the Maroochydore base around 11.30pm on Saturday.

The 20-year-old woman was transferred from Kingaroy Hospital to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The pedestrian, aged in her 20s, sustained the injuries after she was hit by a car in Gatton.

She was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital by road, before being airlifted to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

More than half of all missions RACQ CareFlight Rescue flew across Queensland last year involved the transfer of seriously ill or injured people between hospitals.
