As autumn temperatures continue to soar across large parts of the State, snakes appear to be on the move.
Earlier today, a 60-year-old woman was gardening in the yard of her Goondiwindi home when she was bitten on the foot by an unidentified snake. It is believed that she followed the proper snakebite First Aid procedure, before being driven to the local Hospital.
At 1.20pm, the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to fly to Goondiwindi Hospital and transport the woman to Toowoomba Hospital. She travelled in a stable condition.
The Roma-based Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service airlifted man in his 40s from the township of Glenmorgan, in the Western Downs region, this morning after he was bitten on the back of the leg by a brown snake.
The Surat Gas Aero-Medical helicopter was tasked to the scene from Roma at 8.45am.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the man at the scene, before the CareFlight specialist medical crew ferried him to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
