CareFlight airlifts second patient involved in Jandowae crash

The male passenger suffered a suspected head injury after the car swerved to avoid colliding with a kangaroo, rolled and slammed into a tree.

The crash happened sometime before 2am approximately six kilometres north of Jandowae.

The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Jandowae Hospital to airlift the young adult just after 8am.

He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

He is the second crash victim to be airlifted by the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter today.

Earlier this morning, the crew was tasked to urgently airlift a man in his 50s who sustained suspected head and spinal injuries in the same crash. He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

A female occupant also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Jandowae Hospital by road ambulance.

This is the second time the young adult has required an airlift by RACQ CareFlight Rescue.

He was previously airlifted about two years ago after he was bucked from a bull in a rodeo.
