A car with five occupants failed to negotiate a turn and got airborne, hitting a tree while approximately three metres in the air.
A man in his 20s was airlifted by CareFlightÂ’s Toowoomba-based helicopter from Stanthorpe Hospital to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane at around 2pm today.
He was treated for facial injuries and suspected spinal injuries.
The patient travelled in a serious but stable condition.
The other four occupants of the vehicle were treated on-scene by Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics.
