It’s understood the child’s family had been holidaying in the area when the young boy was struck by a 4WD on an area of soft sand.
The boy was treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service officers and transferred by road to a helipad located at Noosa Hospital.
The Sunshine Coast crew met the ambulance on their arrival at the helipad.
They then airlifted the young boy to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital with possible head and abdominal injuries.
The boy travelled in a stable condition with his mother at his side.
