The CareFlight helicopter was tasked to Mundubbera Hospital, about 140 kilometres west of Maryborough at about 6pm.
It is believed the boy had an accident on a football field and sustained possible spinal and head injuries.
The young patient was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
