Emergency Services located the car early this morning, however, it is believed the accident occurred overnight.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the accident scene at approximately 6am this morning.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
The man was airlifted with multi-trauma injuries to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
On returning to base, the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was immediately retasked to Eurong Beach at Fraser Island to airlift a five-year-old boy who was suffering from an infection.
He was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
