It’s believed the man lost control of his car before crashing down an embankment in the Sunshine Coast’s hinterland.
Due to the terrain surrounding the scene the areomedical crew landed at a nearby oval.
The man was treated and driven by paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) before being flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
He was transported in a stable condition.
2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
