The couple’s 4WD, towing a caravan, was travelling south on the Gore Highway when it struck the truck. The 4WD rolled several times, colliding with a third vehicle.
The driver of the 4WD, a man in his 60s, was airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter from Millmerran Hospital to Toowoomba Hospital suffering suspected neck and chest injuries. He travelled in a stable condition.
The woman, in her 50s, was transported to hospital by road ambulance.
The family dog, also in the car, was unharmed in the incident.
