Burn victim airlifted after flash fire

During the process, a vapour flash fire occurred and burnt both men.

Both the Queensland Fire Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) were in attendance and treated the men, rendering the scene safe.

One patient was road transported by QAS to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a male in his late thirties suffering burns to legs to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in serious stable condition for further treatment.

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
