Boy airlifted after jellyfish sting at Fraser Island

The 10-year-old suffered a sting to his upper leg while swimming yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

He was initially treated on the island by local paramedics, however his condition deteriorated today.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to airlift the young patient from Orchid Beach at about 3pm.

The boy, who was on holiday with his family, was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

His mother accompanied him on the flight.
