The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew – with LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor on-board – flew to the scene around 12:30pm and treated the boy for head injuries.
He was then airlifted to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
