Since 2009, the Club’s subsidiary Sporties Club has donated money raised from its bingo program to the local helicopter rescue service and tomorrow, their effort will be acknowledged formally by CareFlight.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s North Coast Relationship Manager, Angela Miles, will formally thank the Club for their long-standing support and present a commemorative plaque.
“The bingo program is a great way for locals to get behind their own rescue chopper, while having a bit of fun at the same time.
“We’re extremely thankful for the Club’s commitment to our service, and in turn, the lives of so many people,” Angela said.
And the Hervey Bay Boat Club is only too happy to help.
In-fact, it’s a passion held personally by the Club’s CEO, Ed Gibson, whose grand-daughter, Kiani, was airlifted by RACQ CareFlight as a newborn in April 2010.
