Bendigo Bank hosts Chopper Awareness Month to keep CareFlight choppers flying

Throughout August, 57 Bendigo Bank branches in Brisbane, Logan, Redland City, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba will host various family-friendly fundraising events as part of Chopper Awareness Month – an annual event that raises vital funds and awareness for RACQ CareFlight Rescue.

RACQ CareFlight’s Executive Fundraising Manager Leanne Angel said all funds raised throughout the month will go towards CareFlight’s lifesaving community service.

“The community can get involved during Chopper Awareness Month by doing more than just banking – they can also contribute to CareFlight and help thousands of people every year.”

Bendigo Bank has been a long-standing supporter of CareFlight since 2005 and has hosted Chopper Awareness Month for the past six years.

This year, Bendigo Bank is aiming sky high with a goal to raise $60,000 for CareFlight, and as an added incentive, multiple prizes will be on offer across a number of categories including most funds raised.

There will be CareFlight merchandise and raffle tickets for sale, exciting in-store competitions, and donation tins placed at tellers to help raise the anticipated figure for the not-for-profit organisation.

Noel Jessup, Bendigo Bank State Manager – Queensland, said Bendigo Bank hopes that by hosting Chopper Awareness Month across their Southern Queensland branches throughout the month of August, they are able promote the critical service CareFlight provides every day.

“We are proud to host this annual event, as we recognise the need to support important not-for-profit organisations like RACQ CareFlight Rescue to keep doing great work in our communities,” Mr Jessup.

With a response time as little as 15 minutes, CareFlight provides a vital air medical and rescue service 24 hours a day, seven days a week at no cost to the patient.
