An $11,000 grant though the Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation will be used to upgrade the tanker needed to refuel the rescue service’s helicopters.
The not-for-profit organisation was awarded the grant in recognition of its involvement during the 2013 Bundaberg floods, where the fleet of, then named, AGL Action Rescue Helicopters airlifted more than 100 people from the Bundaberg region and surrounds to safety.
RACQ CareFlight’s Bundaberg Base Manager, John Kennedy, said the Service was thankful for organisations like the Bendigo Bank and its Community Enterprise Foundation.
“Our existing fuel trailer is in urgent need of an upgrade and the improvements made possible by the Bendigo Bank grant will provide ease and increased manoeuvrability during refuelling”.
The new fuel tanker will be commissioned for use in the coming months.
