The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a 68 year-old man from Maryborough Cooloola Road near Tuan to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The 68-year old driver and a female passenger were travelling along Maryborough Cooloola Road just after 3:00pm when their car was involved in a single vehicle incident.
The driver was treated by LifeFlight’s aeromedical crew for head injuries and then airlifted in a stable condition.
The female passenger was treated by the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and then transported by road to the Gympie Hospital with minor injuries.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,342 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
