How do I leave a bequest?

The first step is to have an up to date will in place. This ensures that your estate will be shared according to your current wishes. In your will, you can leave either a residuary or specific bequest.

  • A residuary bequest – you bequeath the portion of your estate that remains after you have provided for others in your will.
  • A specific bequest – you bequeath a set amount of money, or particular assets such as shares, property or a vehicle.
  • A specific dollar amount – you bequeath a precise amount you wish to pledge to us
  • A percentage amount – you can allocate a nominate percentage of your Estate (for example 10%) which will not be reduced by inflation
