Injured woman winched off mountain
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has winched an injured woman off one of the Glasshouse Mountains, this afternoon.
The helicopter was called into action just after 1:30pm.
It's believed the hiker, aged in her 60s, had sustained a lower leg injury, while walking earlier this morning.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were already at the scene, when the rescue chopper arrived.
The QAS Flight Paramedic was winched down to the mountain to retrieve the patient, before the pair were hoisted up to the chopper.
The woman was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
