Two airlifted from Fraser Island overnight
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Fraser Island Friday evening just before 7pm.
The crew retrieved two patients. The first patient suffered a broken collar bone from injuries received in a motorcycle accident and the second patient suffered a dislocated shoulder and broken collar bone from a sand boarding accident.
Both were airlifted to the Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
