Shark attack victim airlifted by LifeFlight jet to Brisbane
A woman injured in a shark attack is currently being airlifted from Mackay to Brisbane this evening (Thurs 20th) on a LifeFlight Air Ambulance jet.
The 46 year old patient was transported by the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) from the Mackay Hospital to the airport, where she was transferred into the care of the LifeFlight aeromedical team.
A Lifeflight critical care doctor and flight nurse will monitor and treat the woman during the flight to Brisbane Airport in the specialized, medically-configured Lear jet.
The patient is expected to be transported to hospital by QAS for further medical treatment.
