Mountain bike mishap leaves man in hospital

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man after he fell whilst riding his mountain bike south of Gympie earlier today. 

The aeromedical crew were tasked to the scene at 12:30 this afternoon. 

The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition. 

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
