Man airlifted after being pinned by 4WD

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an elderly man after he was crushed by a four wheel drive at a property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland yesterday evening.

It's believed the man was trying to hook a caravan up when the accident occurred.

The tow truck crew, first on scene, were able to tow the vehicle forward and release the man.

The aeromedical team worked along side paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to stabilise the man before flying him to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

He was transported in a critical condition.
