Local Lindenberg legends give back to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue
Local Pittsworth automotive business, Lindenberg & Co. have lent a helping hand to LifeFlight, supplying the Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue base with a new helicopter-lifter engine at a significantly discounted price.
The new and improved engine will allow aircraft to be moved easier around LifeFlight’s temporary base at the Toowoomba Aerodrome.
The distance required to move aircraft down the taxiway, combined with a gentle rise in the concrete had caused the heli-lifter to break down multiple times.
“When Lifeflight approached us in need of the new Honda engine we were only too happy to help out as we appreciate the service Lifeflight delivers, and we both serve the same community,” said Mark Lindenberg, Sales Manager at Lindenberg & Co.
Helicopter lifters are a vital piece of machinery used by LifeFlight’s engineering team to quickly move aircraft and maintain fast response times.
Toowoomba-based Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Matt Free said the new engine had already been put to use.
“Once the new engine was fitted - along with some drivetrain upgrades - the heli-lifter proved to be more than capable and reliable,” said Mr Free.
