Swarm of wasps stings male near Leyburn

The Toowoomba based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Leyburn after a male in his late sixties was stung by a swarm of wasps.

It's believed the patient was about to inspect a solar pump when he opened the lid and the wasps flew out and stung the gentleman numerous times. He went into anaphylactic shock due to the stings.

The local QAS crew were first on scene and stabilised the patient before the rescue helicopter landed close by and transferred him to the aircraft where he was airlifted to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
