Surfer airlifted from Double Island Point

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown to Double Island Point to airlift an injured surfer.

A 37 year old male surfer sustained suspected head and spinal injuries after being dumped in the surf. 

The man was driven from the beach by Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics to the rescue helicopter and then flown to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
