Japanese student airlifted after near drowning

A nineteen year old Japanese student has been airlifted by the Brisbane RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after she nearly drowned at Tangalooma Island Resort earlier this morning.

The RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to the Island Resort at 10.45am and airlifted the woman to the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital in a stable condition.

QGAir airlifted a second patient who was also reported to have nearly drowned.
