10 year old boy suffers snake bite

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a 10 year old boy who suffered a snake bite on his family property in the South Burnett region.

The young boy was putting chickens away in the family's paddock when he stood on the snake and was subsequently bitten.  The type of snake that bit him has not yet been identified.

The Toowoomba based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the property at 7:40pm and assisted by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics on site.

The patient was transported in a stable condition, accompanied by his mother on board the helicopter, to Toowoomba Hospital.
