Young girl pulls siblings from car after accident

A seven-year-old girl pulled her two younger siblings from a car accident on the Sunshine Coast in which their mother was injured today.

LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor Matthew Mulkeen said the girl removed the two- and three-year-old children from the vehicle which rolled after running off Gregors Creek Road, Woolmar, near Kilcoy, around 7.45am.

The 28-year-old woman who was driving the car was flown by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition with suspected chest and arm injuries and possible spinal injuries.

The children who had been strapped safely in their seats were not injured in the accident but driven by ambulance to Nambour hospital for a further medical assessment.
