Sunshine Coast LifeFlight airlifts its first patient

A 58 year old woman is the first patient to be airlifted by the Sunshine Coast based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after crashing her motorcycle on the Burnett Highway about 10km south of Ban Ban Springs.

It’s believed the Toowoomba woman was making the journey to Cairns when she veered off the highway possibly due to fatigue at around 10am this morning.

She suffered shoulder and spinal injuries and was transported to the Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
