Snake bite victim airlifted to Toowoomba
A young woman who was bitten by an unidentified snake on Thursday night has been airlifted to hospital by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter service.
The woman was in her backyard on a property at Mungindi, situated on the Queensland-New South Wales border, when she was struck on the ankle around 8.30pm.
The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked shortly before 11.30pm overnight to retrieve the woman from Mungindi Hospital – a marathon four-hour return flight.
She was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
The type of snake is unknown.
