Roma farmer trampled by horse

LifeFlight's Roma-based Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service has flown to a remote rural property north east of Roma at 10:55 AM.

A  male in his early 60's was conducting routine mustering on his rural property when he and his horse fell, the animal subsequently trampled the man as it tried to get up.

The patient sustained suspected leg injuries and was attended to by Queensland Ambulance Services  before the rescue helicopter landed at the homestead (approx. 11:10 AM).

LifeFlight's Critical Care Doctor treated the patient on scene before he was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.

The total flight duration from the scene of the accident to Toowoomba hospital was 1 hour and 24 minutes, the trip by road would have taken more than 5 hours and 12 minutes.
