Mount Isa chopper airlifts woman with suspected spinal injuries

The Mount Isa-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a woman suffering suspected spinal injuries from Urandangi on Saturday night. 

It’s understood the 39-year-old was at Piturie Pub when she was involved in an incident which resulted in suspected spinal and lower back injuries.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the Urandangi Airstrip at around 8.20pm.

The rescue crew met local Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police Service officers at the landing location, South West of Mount Isa where the patient was stabilised for the flight.

She was then airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital for further medical treatment.

The patient travelled in a stable condition.

No further details on the incident which caused the women’s injuries are known.
