Motorbike rider airlifted with life threatening injuries

The Sunshine Coast based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was activated to Mooloolah Valley Saturday morning at 11:25am to attend a motorcycle accident.

Due to the location, the rescue helicopter landed at a nearby cricket oval and the medical team was transferred to the scene where they assisted emergency services in treating a male rider who had collided with a guard rail.

The patient in his mid fifties from the Sunshine Coast was transported by QAS to the waiting rescue helicopter and then was airlifted to the RBWH in a critical condition with life threatening injuries.
