Motorbike rider airlifted after serious accident near Kingaroy

The Sunshine Coast based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked at 9am Saturday morning to the Bunya Highway just outside of Kingaroy to a serious motorcycle accident.

It's believed the Harley Davidson which was towing a trailer left the highway for an unknown reason injuring both the rider and pillion passenger.

Once on the scene, the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and QAS Intensive Care Paramedic treated the 47 year old male rider from Victoria who had suffered head and chest injuries.

He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The pillion passenger was transported by road by the QAS to Kingaroy Hospital with unknown injuries.
