Man airlifted after highway accident near Nanango

A man in his late 70s has been airlifted from the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the Burnett Highway this morning, after his ute was impacted by a semi-trailer.

The man was trapped in his vehicle as a result of the crash, and was ultimately freed by emergency services personnel.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene at 8.00am this morning, and the crew met with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics on the ground shortly after.

The man was assessed and found to have suffered only suspected minor injuries.

He was flown to Nambour General Hospital for observation.

He travelled in a stable condition.
