LifeFlight’s Bundaberg chopper airlifts its first patient
A North Burnett woman has become the first patient to be airlifted by Bundaberg’s local rescue helicopter since the iconic community service changed its name to LifeFlight.
The woman aged in her 60s was suffering an abdominal condition.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to retrieve the woman from Monto Hospital at 9am.
She was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
In the 2015-2016 financial year, LifeFlight’s Bundaberg helicopter was called out for 262 missions, including 120 urgent hospital transfers, 120 serious incidents and motor vehicle crashes, plus 22 search and rescue tasks.
