Farming accident leads to airlift from Mount Mee

A 56-year-old man suffering suspected head injuries was airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter from a private property at Mount Mee this afternoon.

It’s understood the man had been loading cattle onto a truck via a ramp when one of the cows suddenly slid backwards, the ramp then became displaced and the man was knocked to the ground.

The man, who had been working with the livestock alone, managed to make his way back to family members inside a farm house where emergency services were alerted.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene of the accident at approximately 11.30am.

Once on scene, the CareFlight clinical crew assisted local Queensland Ambulance Service officers to treat the man for his injuries.

He was flown to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
