CareFlight attends highway rollover

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a 42-year-old man from the scene of a single vehicle accident on the Burnett Highway.

It’s believed the man was travelling in the passenger seat of a vehicle which rolled several times down an embankment from the Southbound lane of the highway, resulting in possible spinal injuries.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to assist the patient shortly after midday.

The rescue crew travelled to an area approximately seven kilometres South of Ban Ban Springs in the North Burnett region.

The patient was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle received only minor injuries as a result of the accident and did not require transportation.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
