CareFlight airlifts motorbike rider with serious leg injuries

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a 72-year-old man from the scene of a two vehicle accident near Kalbar.

The man was travelling along a rural road when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle causing serious injuries to his lower limbs.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to a location a short distance from the Cunningham Highway shortly after 11am.     

Once on scene, the CareFlight clinical crew assisted Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services personnel to treat the man for his injuries.

The man was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane for further treatment.

He travelled in a stable condition.
