CareFlight airlifts man from remote fishing spot
RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a man aged in his 70s suffering a hip injury from Middle Island, near Agnes Waters today.
The man was fishing on the side of a river bank with a group of friends when he fell and dislocated his hip.
The Bundaberg-based helicopter was tasked to assist the man at the scene of the incident shortly before 10am.
Due to the remote location, the helicopter rescue crew were the first emergency responders to reach the patient.
The helicopter landed on the shoreline nearby the injured man where the CareFlight clinical team was able to treat the man onsite.
He was then flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
