CareFlight airlifts farmer after tractor fall

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted an 83-year-old man from a property near Killarney after he fell from a tractor.

It’s understood the man had been tending to the property on Thursday evening when he fell from the farming equipment, resulting in multiple trauma injuries.

A friend of the injured man alerted emergency services to the incident this morning, having reportedly visited the farm after he was unable to reach the patient by telephone.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called in to assist the man shortly before 9.30am.

Once on scene, the CareFlight Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic assisted local emergency services officers to treat the man for his injuries.

He was flown to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

CareFlight would like to thank Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics and First Responders, as well as Queensland Police Service personnel who assisted the rescue helicopter to land at the scene and safety airlift the patient to further medical care.
