CareFlight airlifts critically ill woman from Russell Island
A woman in her 60s suffering a suspected neurological condition has been urgently airlifted from Russell Island by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service.
The Brisbane-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the island at around 10.30am.
The woman was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital on board CareFlight’s AW139 helicopter under the watchful eye of the Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Nurse.
She was in a critical condition.
More than 40% of RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s patients are over the age of 50.
