Woman airlifted in a critical condition after car accident

The RACQ Sunshine Coast’s rescue helicopter crew was tasked on their second serious car accident of the day at 11:30 am north of Gympie.

The multi veheicle accident occurred near the town of Gootchie.

Both the RACQ CareFlight Helicopter as well as the EMQ rescue helicopter were tasked to the scene to deal with multiple patients.

The RACQ CareFlight’s medical team helped treat a middle age woman who was one of the victims of the accident for critical injuries to her body. The Flight Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic worked on the patient to stablise her before airlifting her to the RBH in a critical condition.

Earlier both the Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg rescue helicopters were tasked to a single vehicle MVA rollover near the town of Biggenden. A husband and wife were both airlifted from the scene to Bundaberg and Nambour Hospitals in a stable condition.
