Woman airlifted following single vehicle accident

A woman in her 70s has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast RACQ Rescue helicopter this afternoon, following a single vehicle accident near Conondale in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The helicopter was tasked to attend to the scene shortly before 11am, following reports a single vehicle had left the road, injuring the occupant.

Queensland Police officers and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics attended to the woman, who had suffered multi-trauma injuries as a result of the accident, before she was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It is understood that the woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle. It is unclear why the car left the road at this stage.
