Woman airlifted following Central Queensland car crash

The Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service has airlifted a woman in her mid-20s from Taroom Hospital, in the Banana Shire, following a single vehicle accident on the Leichhardt Highway this afternoon.

It is believed the accident took place around midday, approximately 40 kilometres north of Taroom.

Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to the local hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service, before CareFlight’s Roma-based rescue helicopter was called.

The patient was transported to Toowoomba Hospital suffering back and head injuries. She travelled in a stable condition.
